Anna Heidebrecht

Registered Provisional Psychologist
M.C., R. Prov. Psych

Anna is a Registered Provisional Psychologist at Life in Colour Psychology. She is passionate about supporting people navigating concerns such as trauma, anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship issues, parenting struggles, boundary issues, living with disabilities, dissociation, self-esteem, and emotional regulation. She offers counselling services to children, teens, and adults. Her work with clients is rooted in compassion, empowerment, and genuineness to navigate issues and realize their full potential.

She utilizes interventions and techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution Focussed Therapy (SFT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She is trained to use Ego State Therapy, which is a parts-based approach to work with our inner conflicts such as childhood wounds. She also has training in topics such as parenting through intergenerational trauma and supporting child social and emotional development. She works from a trauma-informed, attachment-focused, neuro-affirming lens to create a safe and inclusive environment.

In addition to counselling, Anna works with Edmonton Public Schools to deliver psychoeducational assessment services. Prior to her role with Life in Colour and the school board, Anna worked at the Autism Research Centre and Psychology Department at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital. It was these roles that helped to foster one of Anna’s passions for working with autistic individuals and those with potential learning and social barriers.

She understands that finding the right fit for a therapist is an incredibly important factor to a healing and successful therapy journey. She offers a free 15-minute phone consultation for you to decide if she is the right therapist fit for you.
